The Trauma-Resiliency Collaborative (TRC), founded in Salt Lake City in 2014 by psychiatrist Susie Wiet, MD, is an ad-hoc and open community-interest group composed of multidisciplinary professionals and paraprofessionals, who are dedicated to raising awareness to the relationships between health and resiliency and the serious effects of trauma and violence across the lifespan.
The TRC held its first symposium in October 2014. About 150 people attended the two-day Health and Resiliency Symposium: Building a Trauma Informed Community. The collaborative comprises 30 organizations, and three working groups: education and resources, research and statistics, and leadership and advocacy. Again in May 2017, in partnership with the Utah Coalition for Protecting Childhood, the TRC held a two-day, educational symposium entitled Next Steps Symposium: A Trauma-Informed and Resiliency-Focused Community.
